What is Saw Control in a Nut Shell?

1. After the log or cant has entered the cut, feed speed is controlled by saw blade stability (snake). On depth-of-cut applications the normal increase in throughput is 10 to 15%. On sawyer fed carriages with "Saw Control feed enhancement" and auto return the increase is the same.
    

2. The system provides the Filer with visual instrument's and documented history on saw performance. The system protects saws from being over fed.
    

3. On sawyer fed carriage systems, the automatic carriage return button, returns the carriage to a live saw or log load position.

What is the electronic joystick system for hydraulic, cable and shotgun carriages?

1. The mechanical control valve and lever handle are replaced with a lightweight joystick and electrically operated hydraulic valves.
    

2. The joystick's non-contacting control surfaces are state-of-the-art and the control button contacts are gold plated for years of trouble free service.
    

3. An Allen Bradley ™ industrial computer interprets the joystick movement and outputs signals to the control valves.
    

4. An extra large supper filter cleans all the control oil coming from the pilot pump.
    

5. The old system controls are left in place for "backup" and peace of mind.

What is "automatic carriage return" ?

1. With the push of a button on the joystick and/or the control panel, the carriage returns at top speed to the live saw or log load position. This option requires interfacing with the mill scanning system.
